Additional Comments:
"Albert" is a 16.2h, 12yr gaited, chestnut/white pinto Tennessee Walking Horse gelding. Albert is a family favorite for his wonderful disposition and has also been owned by a Natural Horsemanship Trainer, for the past 2 years. Albert is right brain introvert, and despite his size, he very heavily relies on his relationship with the person in the saddle for confidence. Because of this, he is extremely well-behaved, willing, trusting and confident with a person that he has bonded with, but will not do well with a person that does not invest the time in building report and a relationship with him. I highly prefer Albert finds an experienced Parelli home. He has been trailered pretty regularly, and does excellent on trails and rides in just a rope halter everywhere he goes (including a cattle drive, many off-site trail rides, obstacle course clinics, and has even been used a demo horse in several seminars). He is truly a gentle giant, stands tied quietly and can be groomed, bathed, tacked up, etc. by a beginner. He has big joints, great hooves, and a thick frame. He is very quiet and very safe on the ground. Albert is conditioned and stout, and able to carry heavier riders easily. He is naturally gaited, and easily holds a super smooth running walk for long periods of time on the trail. He goes through almost any obstacle he is presented with little or no effort, and has been exposed to many of them here at his home for the past 2 years (pedestals, car washes, squeezes, tarps, barrels, bridges, etc.). Albert loves going on trail rides, and is quiet and not spooky around cars, bikes, other horses, etc. He rides by himself or with others just the same, and in a group can easily can ride upfront, in the middle, or behind. I have ridden Albert Western and English. Albert also rides bareback just fine. I have primarily pleasure rode him and used him as a horse to build other horse's confidence during training, especially out on the trails with green horses. He is an easy keeper for his size, and currently is on Nutrena XTN and T&A hay. I love Albert, and he has been a favorite in the family and with clients, however, I am finding him a new home due to participating in and purchasing an Eventing horse. Because of this new interest and personal time constraints, I am looking to find Albert a GREAT new home. Albert deserves a family to call his own and continue enjoying him for what he is really good at: trail and pleasure riding. Vet checks welcome. An experienced, natural horsemanship home with at least an intermediate rider is a MUST! As stated above, Albert does best and will try his heart out to please once he has a relationship and trust in his rider, but will not be confident without this relationship foundation. Vet, farrier, and personal references, as well as first right of refusal in sale contract required. Albert is very loved, and we will only offer him to a great home that meets these qualifications.
