Additional Comments:
I have a horse we volunteered for therapeutic riding last year, and he trail rode for us with beginners. "Max" is for sale because on the trail with someone who doesn't know about leg position, they can easily cue him into a collected canter without meaning to. Max loves to go, but figured out very quickly what his job was when he was ridden by handicapped kids in the arena. He is VERY good about other horses crowding around him, he neck reins beautifully, and is an easy-keeper. He's low on the pecking order and just doesn't give anyone any trouble. I'm listing him for $600 (he is 20 and he did react to the bean dust at harvest last October) and I probably won't be very negotiable on that. We'll keep him here if he doesn't sell, and I want him to go to an exceptional home. I loved riding this guy as a "guide" horse because he could ride comfortably anywhere in the group and he ponies other horses easily. He's also got awesome hard feet that don't need shoes, he's big boned but not very tall. Nice combination. Max would be awesome for someone who wants an uncomplicated trail horse to camp with or to ride only occasionally. Max doesn't need a tune-up in the spring. Or Max would be a great starter 4-H horse that a child could learn on and gain confidence. He'd love to do some gaming...and he'd be good at it. NO VICES. Max isn't spooky and he'll go anywhere. Perfect loader, ties, great for farrier and vet. Can't say enough good stuff about this boy. He had a complete dental done last year(probably his first one ever) and might never need another floating. $600 firm. (rating his temperament is difficult...Max will go slow for riders in the arena, or walking on the trail if you don't kick him...but he can really move and be animated if you want him to.)
