This guy's perfect for the trail and would excel at competitive trail trials. Buddy's easy going, well mannered and not pushy. No buck, bite or kick. Been to various trail/bombproofing clinics the past few years and took 2nd place in hand at the Oregon Horse Center's Mountain Trail Horse competitive class 3 years ago. Clips, ties, bathes, side-passes, backsup and has a good stop. Started on lead changes and knows how to neck rein. Shot off of using a starter pistol at a walk, trot and canter.... (read more) Goes through water, has been desenisitized to various objects/obsticals like walking over/dragging tarps and logs, cans, bottles and is a pro on horse tetter-totters. If you are looking for a speedy, hyped up gaming horse this is NOT your guy. Buddy does best at lower keyed events. His favorite fast speed is a slow canter. Trailers fantastic, good for the vet and farrier too(actually falls asleep). Has been pastured with several cows, tracked cattle around the arena and I've taken him team penning. He does ok as a beginner but would need more training and exposure for this type of events. The kind of horse that once you show/expose him to something unfamilar he handles it in stride and is just a pleasure to be around. Has done well with kids but not a finished kids horse. Buddy is in training now for a conditioning tune-up and he is doing very well. The ranch just loves him and his easy going, layed back nature. I would hope he go to someone wanting to do competitive trail Trials or trail ride. Can forward a videos upon request. Thanks but not interested in trades. PRICE IS FIRM so please dont ask.
