"Newt" is a 11 year old 15 hand AQHA Registered dark bay gelding. This is a really good looking gentle horse with an excellent rein, stop, and back up. This horse rides and handles better than most and yet moves very smooth and quiet. He is not the type of horse that will rein out from under you but will do everything you ask him in an easy smooth manner. We have ridden this horse bareback with a halter, and completely tacked up with saddle and bridle, and he is great to ride either way.... (read more) This horse rides on loose rein with an easy touch, and should not be ridden by anyone that is heavy handed or uses the reins to hold on to for balance. This will make it a little difficult for your Inexperienced, Beginner, and Novice riders to ride. He is definitely gentle enough for the Beginner and Novice riders if first ridden in a controlled environment with knowledgeable supervision. This is a horse best suited for the intermediate and Experienced riders that can appreciate his talents and athletic abilities. This is a nice laid back horse with a forgiving and willing attitude, that would be a great asset no matter where he is. This is a horse to be proud of, and if you are looking for a good handling horse, with a good mind, and great conformation, you have found him don't pass him up. We have used this horse in the pen and on the trails, and he is very comfortable with both, never spooking or showing any signs of barn sour or any other bad habits. This horse will be at home in the lesson pen, the arena, and in the pasture on the trails. His pedigree will be made available to serious buyers, upon request (I have stopped placing the pedigrees on the website because someone has started getting the previous registered owners contact information from the registration association and then making harassing phone calls. Sorry for the inconvenience, but there is always someone that wants to mess it up for the rest of us.)
