Additional Comments:
Dex is a retired race horse (his last race was February 1) The reason for his retirement is his previous said he did not have race horse qualities and no passion for it. Said he is "laid back" and not a normal thoroughbred. Got him this year in March and he is very loving and fun to be around. I have only used him only as a trail horse, but he could be so much more. He walks, trots, canters (and when you want to) gallops. I have ridden him Western, but before I got him they said he had done both English and Western. The only reason for selling is because he still has spunk to him and has not been properly trained. This horse needs someone that knows thoroughbreds, one that can take him and finish his training. I am 16 and have been able to ride him for the past 7 months. I think he needs someone more suitable for his needs though and a more experienced rider. He has bucked twice since I have had him, but does not have a bad habit of it. Easy to catch and often will jog up to me. I enjoy riding him and have struggled with my decision to sell him. On a nice day I take him out for a run. Has been ridden on the roads and does well. The barn is around a highway and does not spook him at all. Great with other horses. He could be trained for anything. Just needs a partner that has the time and knowledge to make him an even better horse.
