Brazen is a very special young gelding who came to us because of his unique color and wonderful temperment. He is a dark bay with rabicano and brindle markings.
Brazen retired sound from racing and is best suited to be a pleasure horse. He'll do fine at schooling shows, jumping the occassional log in the woods, and for sure will enjoy a nice gallop every now and then. He will also make a wonderful companion--he enjoys company and has some close buddies in his herd, but is also content to be alone in the pasture, and doesn't worry if his friends aren't close by.
Brazen has an exceptional temperment, and has never met a stranger. All he meets are immediately subjected to a total inspection--he loves to sniff and rub people with his nose. His favorite thing is pressing his head against a friendly person and having his poll and ears scratched.
Brazen retried from a sixteen race career with one win, three seconds, and a third... and managed to win almost $40,000 on legs that would have been better for never seeing the track. That said, he had a bit of talent and a lot of heart and retired with all the class in the world. He has some old scarring on his legs that we think came from a pasture accident as a baby--they're not pretty, but he doesn't seem to mind.
Brazen is easy to handle--he's good on the ground, easy to load, cross and single ties, and will stand all day for a good grooming. We've been on him several times now and just love riding him. He LOVES to work, and is great at all three gaits. He's willing and forward and is happy to be doing a job! Could all horses have the work ethic that he does!
We invite you to come and meet this exceptional young horse and others that are looking for new homes. Please call or visit www.apinchofluck.com for more information!
