Shameless, or "Siggy" as we affectionately call him, is a very good looking, well-sized coming 3 yo registered Oldenburg (GOV) gelding by the Elite Hanoverian stallion Scimitar (Silvio/Cor de la Bryere) and out of our proven and successful Holsteiner dressage mare "Oro" (Rapport / Franat), born May 31, 2009, and ready to be started any time now!
Siggy is a wonderful combination of extremely good jumper blood and that of his dam's great dressage lineage. He is very correct with good bone and should be of a medium build, with a beautiful, curvaceous neck and topline and particularly good hind end. He has excellent feet that are well matched and of good quality. He is elastic in his movement with ground covering gaits and natural balance. Due to his blended breeding, Siggy shows good suitability for either the hunter or dressage ring, or even the jumper ring. With his good looks, size, and correct, attractive conformation, he is also definitely a candidate to show on the line prior to his under saddle career. He is quite flashy being a rich, very dark bay with just the right amount of chrome, and his blaze touches his right eye in a unique way, giving him darling white eyelashes! We expect him to mature to around 16.1h given his current size and his parent's heights and offspring size history.
His temperament is naturally laid back and easy-going, and he is very friendly and loves attention. All of Oro's foals (he is her 4th) have had a lovely disposition and he is no exception. He is a farm favorite with visitors as he's first to greet you in the field, sometimes coming running, and usually with a welcoming whinny! He's a heartbreaker!
Siggy was inspected and registered with the Oldenburg GOV on Sept. 9, 2009. Price is negotiable with special preference to avid show home, so bring your offer and we will work with you before winter! Once we send him to be started in February or March, his price will increase substantially. Video is available.
