~ 14yr old Morgan Mare ~ Perfect Trail Horse ~

Mindy is a roughly 14.1hh, dark bay Morgan mare with no markings on her. She was bought at a New Holland in 2007 and I have had her ever since. She was advertised at auction as a broodmare from Virgina and yet she has no registration that I know of. She was shown at auction with a year old colt of hers that looked exactly like her. I only bought her though, not the foal as well. Mindy was my first horse that I have owned and I am so glad to have had the time with her. She is a beautiful mare trained Western. This mare is a perfect trail horse. She is phenomenal on the trail. She has no fear of bikes, cars, dogs, or bridges. She has a fear of *cows* though. Something I haven't been able to overcome. She opens her mouth for the bit and stands quietly to be tacked up. She does walk/trot/canter/gallop at very even and controlled paces. She is currently barefoot and has never had shoes that I know off. Her hooves are strong and I see no need for shoes unless you are going to ride on gravel. She has never been sick a day of 2 years. She is NOT UTD on any shots, but she is UTD on her worming. I will be getting her hooves trimmed again within the month. She is currently on hay on pasture. She is a VERY EASY KEEPER!!! This horse only needs hay and corn in the Winter. She is currently overweight and that is on pasture alone! She is completely sound and has no health problems in the past 2 years and has never coliced. MINDY IS CURRENTLY IN FOAL. Due late May/early June in 2010 she is bred to a registered Chestnut Overo Paint Horse. (More info upon request.) She was palpated in September and the pregnancy was confirmed. This mare is safe for beginner riders. Mindy has a very calm temperament and is a very calm and loving mare. She can be very dominant over other horses, and always wants to be alpha in the pasture. I am only selling her because I have moved on to English Riding and now have another horse and I cannot afford both of them. Sadly it has come down to "Who is trained my discipline?" She is a Western Pleasure/Trail horse. I am competing English and I no longer ride Western. Mindy needs a new LOVING home where she can bless the lives of even more people.
