Additional Comments:
Ava is very calm, but at this point, she like things on her own terms She is in the middle of the mixed herd. Gets along fine with everyone, but seems to be the type who will always have a buddy. Somewhat aloof and uncertain. At first she would put her ears back when approached, but that doesn’t work here, so she’s not doing it as much. We are beginning ground work. She is ready to learn anything. She should be a dream to train, as she will resist mildly, but then submit. Absolutely no fight or flight in her. She is not scared of anything, and seems to look at new things with a "Huh, will you look at that" attitude. It seems her only defense is an "Ugly Face" she puts on at times. Although she tried to bite her first two days, she has not done that since and actually has the softest mouth when she is given cookies. I can cleanher front hooves in a stall without restraint and lead her from stall to stall with only a lead around her neck. She is not really an in-your-pocket, people horse, but I think that she will be able to be trained very easily and will be a superb mount. Ava will need someone that is able to work with her and knows how to teach a young horse basic ground manners. She is very smart and could be trained for anything. Ava is calm and not a fighter. I applied pressure to her side and she automatically gave to it and pivoted on her forehand.
