Lava, a 3 1/2 year old 15hh red bay QHxFreisianxSaddlebred mare, born April 25, 2006. Dam is a 14.2hh QH and sire is a 15.1hh FreisianxSaddlebred. I have raised her from birth, and started working her when she was only a few days old. Started lunging her by 5 months of age and started lunging her under saddle as a yearling. She has had a lot of ground work, and was started under saddle with rider at age 2, but had most of her training with a rider during the summer of 2009, as a 3 year old. She learns very fast and enjoys getting out. Listens well to voice commands and doesn't require a lot of leg pressure, but is not sensitive. She is easy to catch. Doesn't spook easily and gets used to new surroundings quickly. Used to vehicles as well. Good with farrier. She does have energy, but she is easy to keep under control. Has been trained both English and western, and was started over poles and 1.5 to 2 foot high jumps in July 2009. Has beautiful gaits, and is extremely smooth to ride. Has been taken out for several rides down the road and in bush areas with no other horses and has done very well. Loves attention, is an easy keeper, and gets along well with other horses and animals. Would be a great jumper or dressage horse, and also great for pleasure and trails. Well broke. Prefer intermediate to experienced level rider. This horse is a rare opportunity for anyone who is interested! Will also sell her bridle with her. It is black leather with nose band, and has a silver D ring bit (only a couple years old).
