Henry is a 17.2 hh chestnut w/ flaxen mane and tail Belgian Warmblood (or so we suspect. No papers) who is suited only for walk work due to navicular, but is easily handled and ridden by everyone (I have had a seven and ten year old that had never been on a horse ride him arounde the arena at a walk without assistance with no problem). He has second or third level dressage under his belt and used to jump 4 ft. He is the sweetest lovebug with tons of personality. Great pasture mate for any horse. he gets along with all horses and never picks on any one, nor does he let himself be picked on. He is so friendly and dearly loves to have a job, or something to look forward to during his day he has an amazing work ethic. He truely is a gentle giant. He was a rescue once before, starved and neglected, then starved again when he was given to a family that did not care for him properly. He was returned and I took him in as he was still gaining weight and his feet were months over due. He is now happy and healthy other than his navicular, and can be used as a walking work only horse as long as his corrective shoign is upkept.I want to say I feel horrible, because I'm trying to find a good home for Henry because he can't be used for what I need him for, but I can't afford a 2nd special needs horse I cannot use as I need. He is free to an approved home. I rescued Henry after his second time of being starved , and I will not hand him off to just anyone. I won't let it happen to him again.I will be doing a through check of where he will be kept, and will check up on him frequently. I will consider out of state if I know someone in the area that can go check on him periodically in person.
