Skip is a 14 year old registered APHA gelding. He is big and could carry a large man without problem, easy to keep and has been used primarily as a trail and pleasure horse. He is the first horse to come say hello in the pasture, very friendly, easy to catch. He does not buck, bite, etc, but could use a more experienced rider (or a dedicated advanced beginner) because he can get a little stubborn for a novice rider if he is not ridden regularly, but he is not unsafe, just needs leadership because he is smart and has carried all sorts of riders around and has figured it out. He is being ridden in a snaffle and is light in your hands with a soft stop. He has nice confirmation and when properly collected is very impressive. Solid, well maintained feet. He would make a great ranch horse or guide horse, and is large enough to go all day or drag a calf. He received 30 days professional training in July and the trainer really enjoyed him and put a lot of miles on him, and used him on the ranch and to pony colts into the hills. He is for sale because his current owner does not ride him regularly, and does not have the time to keep him working well. He is back in training for a sale tune up, and will be shown by the trainer to potential buyers. His price will also include 2 lessons with the trainer to help with a smooth transition to his new life, as this horse is well loved and deserves a forever home.Asking $2500 obo. Motivated to sell.
