Additional Comments:
Handsome 15.2 hh chestnut quarter horse gelding, 12 yo; ridden english and western; nice, smooth, very forward mover at walk/trot with ring temperament of 3 & trail temperament of 5, perhaps. Had 2 mos. prof. training in 2008 & used by me for lessons and pleasure riding since. Earned a few w/t ribbons in past. This boy requires a confident intermediate or an advanced rider; his canter under saddle needs work for english (collection) and he knows barrel pattern so he is versitile. He longes & trailers fine, is sound and utd on all shots; kept shod this past year with regular vet and farrier care; dewormed every 8 wks & had his teeth floated, July 09. Bridger is currently boarded at Markee Creek Farm in Walnut, PA where you can check him out. Can be purchased or also can be leased on site for lessons; may consider off site lease for right person. Would also make a satisfactory companion horse or "lawn ornament" for non riders. Always came right to me, never had to be chased to halter; was personable with me on ground in stall, paddock and pasture.I say he is quirky because he can be inattentive -- seems to daydream & stare off to horizon a lot. Due to this he can "walk all over" unsuspecting handlers or spook at something that was right beside him all along that he just never bothered to notice before. He also resists cantering and will dump inexperienced riders if made to canter long. He can really move out at a trot though. REALLY. An elegant mover, this boy is. He has also been fount to be "seat sensitive" & responds well to posting height. He was my first horse but I have since gotten two smaller quieter ones I ride and he is just standing, so he may need a refresher. He deserves a great owner who knows how to be both patient but firm. He is low man on the horse totem pole, also he responds better to treat rewards than to a crop or reprimand. Are you a horse whisperer? Perhaps you are the one person in the world who can give this sweet knucklhead a happy home. Many more pics avail. that I can email to you. May also have a video or two.call PJ at 717 951 7290
