Additional Comments:
Miramar is a lovely 5-year-old pinto Main Book Friesian Sporthorse mare. She is by the imported Friesian stallion Pieter fan Lutke Peinjum, who is the sire of numerous successful Friesian Sporthorse offspring, including the 2006 FSH Gold Medal Horse of the Year. Her dam is a pinto Georgian Grande mare, FWF Sweetheart's Dance. Miramar has no Paint / stockhorse blood! Miramar is a nice mover, with good conformation, and a sweet and sane temperament. She is sound, healthy, and easy to work with. We looked at dozens and dozens of fillies before selecting Miramar to add to our small group of broodmares. Miramar was chosen for her movement, conformation, temperament, and potential to produce quality sporthorse foals -- and she has more than fulfilled our expectations. The only reason Miramar is being offered for sale is because since we are keeping her '08 colt as a stallion prospect, we'll need to introduce some new outside blood to our breeding program. We're also seriously considering keeping her '09 filly to replace her as a future broodmare. Miramar has had two very nice foals so far. Each was nicer than herself -- the mark of a good broodmare! In 2008 she foaled Americus ROF, a stunning pinto colt by the approved Friesian Sporthorse stallion Nico. Americus has already earned his Bronze Elite status via inspection, and is being kept in partnership as a stallion prospect. In 2009 Miramar foaled Laguna ROF, another stunning pinto foal, this time a filly by our approved Elite Book Friesian Sporthorse stallion Lexington. Both of her foalings were easy and with healthy foals, and she was a great mom. Photos of both of these foals are included on Miramar's web page.Miramar is confirmed in foal to Lexington, for a May 2010 foal. Lexington is a 16h, homozygous black, approved Elite Book Friesian Sporthorse stallion. He has won too many Year-End and High Score dressage awards to list here, and is one of the most popular and best known Friesian Sporthorse stallions in the US, and was recently featured in a magazine article about Friesian Sporthorses. He is also one of the only Friesian Sporthorse stallions to be fully Approved for Breeding. You may learn more about Lexington on Miramar's webpage also. All of Miramar's pregnancies have been from AI (fresh chilled), no live cover.Miramar is registered in the FSA's Main Book, and all of her foals (out of acceptable stallions) would be eligible for Main Book registration as well. Her foals could also be registered AWS, or with any of the myriad of Friesian crossbred registries.http://www.riveroaksfarm.net/MiramarForSale.htmlRiver Oaks Farm ~ Friesian Sporthorses & Warmbloods
