Abby is a beautiful 7-year-old 16 hand grey thoroughbred/quarter cross (appendix). She is currently being ridden by a 16 year old who took her from the world of western pleasure and brought her into the world of hunter/jumpers, which is a better fit for her. People comment that she looks and moves like a warmblood with her height, build, and refined movements. Abby has beautiful forward gaits, and is learning to perfect her lateral movements, such as shoulder ins, leg yields, and has perfected her flying lead changes. Abby is a beautiful and graceful mover and has potential to be great in higher dressage levels. However, her true passion is jumping. Abby is a very natural jumper, who is eager and brave and has never batted an eye at even the scariest of flowers and obnoxious fences we have presented to her! She is very steady in approaching jumps, has mastered her timing and is very easy to adjust and set to the jumps and lines. She is comfortable in doing combinations, gymnastic lines, and has been shown on smaller courses. Abby has beautiful form and would make an excellent jumper or could possibly do some eventing. Owners sadly must sell and would like to place Abby with a more experienced rider who can bring out her full potential. However, we do not want to discourage others who could use her in a program as a schooling horse. She takes such great care and gentleness in reassuring younger/less experienced riders when they lose their balance by gently stepping under them to help them regain their balance. Either way she is a sweet mare and has a great, funny personality that would make for wonderful companion for many years to come.
