Mamie Quickory is a 2005 AQHA Sorrel mare aka Jake. Jake is a real pretty made mare that has good conformation and is bred and built to be cow horse. She stands about 14.2 and has the prettiest lil head. We started this mare last year as a 3yo and she was making a very nice horse, but do to lack of time and too many horses to ride and take care of, we did not stay after her and keep riding her, so we bred her. She was very easy to start and easy to train. She was never bronky or anything like that and she has a neat little handle on her. Jake is also broke to a rope and we have drove cattle up into the pens on her. She was ridden out in the pasture quite a bit and has a really fancy stop. Jake is light in her face and sides and really wanted to be the real deal. She is also an easy keeper and stays fat on next to nothing. Jake has several half brothers and sisters that made cutting horses, big time rope horses and ranch rodeo horses. Jake's sire is an own son of Doc's Hickory. Her momma, Mamie Shahan is a granddaughter of Zan Silver Parr who has 124 AQHA points, Superior Heading, Superior Heeling, 1991 World Champion in Heading and Heeling, and was owned by George Straight. Her momma was also a granddaughter of Tanquery Gin. Jake has been vet checked in foal for 2010 to our red roan stallion, Bet On Bluegrass, who is a cutting horse and an own son of Bet On Me 498 (a son of Smart Little Lena). Our vet Dr. Brodie is doing an experiment and he is almost positive that the baby in the oven is a stud colt. Only time will tell. No guarantees, but a very good chance. Also a good chance that he could be a red roan stallion prospect! Who knows! :) $2,800 for the 2-N-1 package deal.
