Additional Comments:
Domingo is a very athletic, sweet and friendly yearling gelding who is destined to become an outstanding 'sport horse' for a discriminating rider. He is currently in his 'gawky' leggy growth stage, but any knowledgeable horseman can see what a beauty he will become upon maturity. Domingo's sire is a highly athletic, gorgeous young Shagya stallionSW Daniel. Daniel's grandsire, *OMAN, is a leading producer of Shagyas in the US and successfully completed the ISR stallion testing as well as producing successful jumpers, dressage horses and Tevis endurance horses. His lovely dam is very nicely bred too, with her grandsire being the esteemed Iron Springs Farm Consul. Consul's get excel at all levels of dressage, eventing, jumping and he has sired many champion hunters. Domingo has been haltered and handled since birth, so he is trusting, confident, mannerly and respectful. His conformation is absolutely correct, with a pretty head, slender neck reaching into a deeply sloping shoulder with a well-set back wither, a short back, nicely muscled hip, and LONG straight, beautifully-boned legs with solid, hard feet. At this age, Domingo is growing and developing rapidly and measuring 14.3 at the wither and 15 hands at his hip. He will grow into his long graceful legs and should mature in several years to stand at least 15.3 hands, like his sire and dam. Domingo was gelded at six months of age and spends most of his day running and playing in a field with several other geldings, so he is accustomed to horse and herd dynamics. He has a kind, curious disposition and loves people and attention so has always been easy to catch in the pasture; he leads nicely on a loose lead and ties quietly at the hitching post. He accompanied his dam in the trailer as a youngster a time or two, then was taken for short rides after he was weaned, so he already loads and hauls well. Domingo has also had his feet handled and trimmed from the time he was just a few weeks old, so he stands quietly for the farrier. This beautiful young 'gentleman' has all the manners which could be hoped for or expected for an intelligent, bright youngster and shows the attitude and good sense to willingly go forward in his future formal education. Domingo's sire, dam, an 'uncle' (who completed the Tevis ride in 2006 on his first try) and a half sister (who is also for sale, the 2009 filly SW Sarenade) are also available for viewing on the farm. If you are looking for a horse with a lot of potential to win for you in the future, you need to meet Domingo who lives in Bend, Oregon.
