Additional Comments:
Renegade is a 10 year old STUNNING black/white overo paint. He is mostly black with a bald face, 1 1/2 blue eyes, three white stockings, and small patches of white on either side of his belly. He has just enough white to say "look at me" without being overwhelming. He has great conformation, a stunning head with small ears, a beautiful neck, nicely boned legs, large solid feet, and the biggest shoulder and hip! He is built like a TANK and is heavily muscled with little conditioning. He is an easy keeper and stays that way on very little food. He rides SUPER well and will carry a beginner all through the woods without issues. He is frequently an "extra" horse for trail rides and does well whether leading or following. He crosses bridges and water without a problem. He has the tendency to be a little lazy, and prefers a walk or trot but WILL get up and go if asked. He is NEVER a "take off" threat, and truthfully would rather amble through the woods than gallop any day. He is NOT spooky and loves every trail we take him on; even the difficult ones! He is ready to ride as soon as the saddle is on; and does not require any round pen work to get him ready. He is dog broke and tolerates just about anything. He has been ridden into town and along the highway and is traffic safe. This horse is ready to hit the trails anytime whether you ride him once a year or every day. Movement: Renegade has an easy jog for western, and for English has a large, springy trot that automatically puts the rider on the correct diagonal. He has a large rocking horse canter that is a BLAST to ride! His flexion is good and his headset is perfect. He backs under saddle and is working on his side passing. He would make a fantastic western pleasure or English equitation show horse with very little work. Renegade has awesome ground manners. He leads well, is never pushy or hesitant, loads into trailers (whether ramp load or step up, slant, stock or straight), stands for the farrier (shoes or trims), will stand tied quietly for DAYS (yes he pickets), bathes, and stands like a statue to mount/dismount. He never kicks or bites, and is the perfect gentleman to have around the farm. He is in the middle of the pecking order and is not mean or violent during meal times. He gets along well with everyone. He is also VERY good with fences and never tests them. Due to his impressive size, Renegade would do well as a larger person's trail horse as he can carry upwards of 300 lbs without any problems all day long on the toughest tracks. He also, however, is gentle enough to put a child on and will respect a small rider. He is one of the easiest horses to ride, and anyone, beginners or advanced, children or adults, can ride him on the trails. He would be absolutely ideal as a "husband" or "guest" horse for trail rides, or as a primary horse for someone new to riding. For the more advanced rider, he would make a fantastic show horse in almost any discipline (hes very agreeable and has a good work ethic) or could be taken to more extreme levels of trail riding without issue. If you would like to see more photos of Renegade please email or call me. I am typically available to talk (at length) about any questions you may have after 7 pm or on the weekends. I hope to have some videos of him trail riding or working in an arena soon-- please email me and I can send you them directly. Come on out to the farm and try Renegade-- he is an AWESOME horse for anyone looking to have a great time! Every time I work him I like him more and more. Sadly, Im forced to sell Renegade as my financial situation has changed dramatically. Please call 706-296-7262
