Additional Comments:
Johnboy has produced some beautiful babies for us, and we are retaining one of his son's as our herd sire. We are a small farm that does not have room to stand three stallions, so we must part with this sweet guy.Johnboy is genetically tested to be homozygous for bay, heterozygous for black, HYPP N/N. He has thrown two buckskin foals by our chestnut mare, and one bay colt out of a black bay mare. He cannot sire black, or smutty black. Genetically, he will sire chestnut, bay, buckskin or palomino for you. John has his temporary registration number with IBHA, and will convert to permanent registry after registering 12 buckskin offspring with IBHA. John has a light dorsal stripe and very faint striping on his legs, however we did not register him with Dun factor. John will produce beautiful sport ponies when crossed on pony mares, but he is tall enough to cover 15HH mares live. We have one mare bred to John for the spring by natural cover who stands 15HH. It was a reach for him, but he was able to get the job done. He is easy to handle in the breeding shed. Please check our website for more information on John. This picture of him was while he was still wet from a bath. He is lighter buckskin when dry, and dapples nicely in the summer. There are more pictures of him on our website as well as a short YouTube video.****JOHN IS NOT SOUND TO RIDE**** He has nerve damage to his left front shoulder from an injury in his youth. He has a limp after working at liberty in the round pen. I have had him saddled and have ridden him a bit on days that his shoulder does not bother him, and he is quiet enough that my kids (10 and 6) can sit on him bareback as he is lead around to graze. He is offered as a breeding animal, and he does his job very well. Mares typically settle with two covers over one heat cycle. No guarantee of fertility will be offered, however you may have him tested prior to purchase at your expense.
