Additional Comments:
Scarborough Penny Candy is a 4-year-old section A welsh mare, 12 hands, papered with the WPCSA. Her sire is Caris Royal Guardsman LOM, who is a multiple champion in driving, halter, short stirrup, trail, hunter, you name it. Her dam is *Menai Seren Aur, who has many wins in halter and driving, including a 1st place in a working carriage driving class (judged 100% on performance) at her very first driving debut, beating out several national champions. Penny Candy is quiet, obedient, and willing. She is solid and quick to respond with her voice commands, especially "whoa." She is so quiet and easy that a child or a beginner can drive her. She doesn't need any lungeing, warm up, or "prep" - you can just hitch her and go, even if she hasn't been driven in a while. Penny stands quietly and patiently to be hitched - no need for a header or to be tied. She will walk willingly down the trail and come back at a walk, no jigging or racing towards home. She has been shown numerous times in halter, so she is used to loading and trailering easily, and is calm in new environments. She has been driven at shows but not actually shown in harness, as I have been too busy promoting her dam and half-brother. Penny has also been driven along the road next to light traffic. She is used to dogs and children. She is green-broke to ride, and has given leadline rides to children. Penny will walk up to you in the pasture whenyou call her, and will stand quietly when tied, even for long periods. She is easy to trim, fly spray, and bathe. She is current on shots, trimming, worming, and coggins. She is in perfect health, doesn't have any bad habits, and has never been sick or lame. Vet checks welcome.I am VERY reluctant to sell this mare, as she is one of my favorites. The ONLY reason I'm considering selling her is because I also own her half-brother, dam, and nephew, and they all drive as well - and it's hard to find the time to drive 4 ponies, especially since I'm due to start training 2 more ponies to drive this winter.Penny loves to drive and be worked and it's a shame to have her sit around and only be driven occasionally. I will only sell her to the best of homes. Penny is priced at $5000 or best offer to serious show home. I will take payments, and I can arrange shipping; she is located in Plano, TX. Attached is a slideshow of Penny, pictures are recent.
