Additional Comments:
Blessing is an absolutely gorgeous filly who is also a super athlete. Blessing was born to be a sporthorse and has a natural ability to jump and excellent sporthorse conformation. Blessing has three lovely sweepy gaits, an awesome personality and a willingness to work and to please. Blessing is sane, sound and vice free. Blessing was raised by a large family and enjoys human interaction as well as gets along well with other horses. If you are looking for a gorgeous and talented young sporthorse prospect who also has an unbelievably kind disposition this is the filly for you. Blessing ties, is good to groom, is easy to catch, leads well, lunges well, is good in traffic, loads and hauls well also. ***UPDATE END OF AUGUST 2009*** Blessing IS well started under saddle. She is walk/trot/cantering under saddle. She is progressing quickly and easily in her training and seems to THRIVE on the handling and attention! Blessings sire is the approved Irish Draught stallion Flag of Diamonds (17.1 hand Gray stallion); Flag of Diamonds sire, Flagmount King is one of the most consistent producers of show jumpers from the sons of King of Diamonds. He is a renowned class A international show-jumper in Ireland and is in the top 10% of recorded Irish Draught stallions in breeding value for producing top show jumpers as determined by the Irish Horse Board. Flagmount King is also in the top 10% of stallions of all breeds registered with the Irish Horse Board, including Irish Draughts, Thoroughbreds, Thoroughbred crosses and Warmbloods. He is known for producing refined horses with kind dispositions and jumping ability. Currently retired from a long and productive show career, Flagmount King is one of a few R.I.D. stallion to win open competition against the clock. He beat top horses such as Spring Elegance, Maloney's Error, etc. in Grand Prix Competition. Competed at the Kerrygold Dublin Horseshow (R.D.S.), Millstreet (Co. Cork) and Salthill (Co. Galway). Flagmont King jumped on the British Junior Team winning P&O European Ferries Rose Bowl at Royal Highland Show in Edinburgh. He also jumped in Portugal, Belgium, France and Switzerland. Flagmont King has 246 S.J.A.I. Points (220 International Points). A big athletic horse, he is a full brother to both Flagmount Diamond and Flagmount Boy. He jumped in International Competition until 1991. (Flagmount Diamond is the sire of Hopes are High, winner of the DuMaurier in Calgary and the Spruce Meadows DuMaurier in 2000, the most prestigious event in show jumping (ridden by Nick Skelton)). Flagmount King’s dam, Gowran Betty, is by New Chieftain, a son of Errigal. King of Diamonds is also by Errigal and is line bred to the great Irish Draught foundation sire Galty Boy.Flag of Diamonds grandsire, King of Diamonds is described in 'The Irish Draught Horse' by Alex Fell as 'the single best known Irish Draught of modern times (he) has been described as the saviour of the Irish Draught as a breed, as a result of his prepotent jumping ability'. King of Diamonds is a legend in the breeding of Irish showjumpers, with a genetic index of 31 and an accuracy of 93%. He is one of the most influential RID stallions, producing both top performers and leading stallions and broodmares including Dury Lad, Rodrigo Pessoa's Special Envoy, John Ledingham's Millstreet Ruby, and Joe Fargis' Mill Pear. King of Diamonds is ranked 21st in the World Breeding Rankings for the period 1992 - 2001 on the basis of 19 of his progeny, King of Diamonds was by Errigal a son of Silvermines, which was the Irish Draught side of his parentage. His dam Ruby was by True Boy, a halfbred sire who traces to Kildare, a well known Irish Draught stallion at the beginning of the century. The grand dam was the Thoroughbred mare Biddens. King of Diamonds was a jumper in his own right. When King of Diamonds died in 1991 at the age of 29 he had eleven stallion sons on the Irish Horse Register and two grandsons. Four years later his descendant stallions numbered over forty. Please contact us for additional information on Blessing, for video or for additional photos. Blessing sells current on worming, shots and will come with a current negative coggins test.
