Additional Comments:
"Whiskers" is a bright-bay, Registered Half-Arabian, gelding (arab/saddllebred, so he is actually a "national show horse"). He has multiple championship bloodlines including Marhaba, Huckleberry Bey, Mosaka, Daraska, Holly Bask, Bay El Bay, Khemosabi, Baychatka, Sacudir, Nagasaki, Nezabudka, Nevisca, Arax, Napersnitsa,Wild Wine, and more (pedigree on file below - If you have trouble viewing it, e-mail us and I will e-mail you a copy). Whiskers is extremely sweet, very trusting, and well-mannered. He has that "True Bask" temperment and would come in your house and watch TV with you, if you let him! He bathes, stands for farrier (but has never had to have shoes), clips (even inside the ears - no twitch or restraints needed with him!), ties (not a puller or panicker), crosses wooden bridges, water, logs, etc. He's not afraid of dogs, running and screaming children, lamas, alpacas, etc.Whiskers just turned 5 on May 15, 2009. Although he has been handled since we received him at around age 2, we waited until he was almost four years old to begin his training under saddle. Whiskers was started from day 1, being imprinted. His ground schooling has been very thorough (similar to Lyons, Parelli, Vaquero, and Spanish Riding School - we usually use methods from Ireland and Sweden, but it ALWAYS depends on the Horse as to which gentle method we will use!).Whiskers has been very easy to train - he is so loving and trusting of people, he would do almost anything for his rider. He has approximately 100 actual days of riding on him, but has not been ridden since last summer due to my personal injury and subsequent back surgeries! He is still handled daily, but I am not able to take him as far as he is able to go (which will be quite far!).Whiskers needs a home where he will be loved very much, and where he has a "job"! All he really needs is a "tune-up" and then some "finishing" work. He already bends and yeilds to leg and neck pressure, he will turn on haunches or forelegs, sidepass, etc. We started him last summer learning how to pull a cart - he did very well! We brought him along to about the fifth step (pulling a small item) before I had my surgery. In November, I will be cleared to ride. Whisker's price will have to go up from there. My main concern is that Whiskers goes to a loving home! I am willing to accept terms/offers. I really hate to sell him, but we have too many horses right now!
