This gelding is already a winner and appears as if he will stay medium. After only 4 weekends he has accumulated 3 grands, 3 reserves and was Jr. Champion Gelding at the Mid-America Regionial and Champion Yearling Gelding at the 2009 POA International. This is the first foal for both sire and dam and it is proving to be a great cross. Currently showing in halter and lead-in trail. Spencer Livestock - Spencer Livestock is a family operation based out of Chickasha, OK. The goal of the business is to raise high quality horses and cattle that are competitive in their respective disciplines. The Spencer family has been involved in the Quarter Horse and Pony of the Americas breed for over 40 years.
David Spencer grew up around horses and has raised World Champion AQHA race horses as well as World and International champion POAs. David served as the President of the National Ponies of the Americas Club from 1990-1994 and was on the National AQHA Racing Committee from 1988-1992.
David's three daughters: Dr. Rosslyn Spencer-Biggs, DVM; Blayne Spencer-Arthur and Chelsea Spencer have all grown up in the livestock industry and hold several state and national titles between themselves.
Dr. Rosslyn Spencer-Biggs received her veterinarian degree from Oklahoma State University and now works as a Veterinary Medical Officer for the USDA and trains and shows POAs and Quarter Horses in her spare time. Blayne Spencer-Arthur is a graduate of Oklahoma State University and works as a lender for small businesses. Blayne, along with her husband Jerrod and son, Kelton, operate Lucky Strike Show Cattle and show POAs on the weekends. Chelsea Spencer is attending Oklahoma State University and shows POAs, as well as show cattle in her off time. One of Chelsea's biggest honors was being named the Reserve National Premier Exhibitor at the National Western Stock Show in Denver, CO in 2007. |
