Additional Comments:
Tacoma would be a great horse for someone that wants to start Barrels and grow with the horse. He can race for a beginner and for an advanced rider. My husband had never done Barrels until this weekend and he wanted to try it out with Tacoma and that was how we learned this is an automatic Barrels horse, he knows the pattern and mostly you just have to hang on. My husband was holdig him back though because he was nervous to go to fast. So he could run a lot faster with an experienced Barrel racer I am sure. Video of him can be see here: Tacoma Barrel HorseI would say he is great for someone starting Barrels, but for trail riding he would need an intermediate rider as he likes to cover a lot of ground when trail riding. He does not have any buck or anything in him however. He had not been rode in 2 months when we took that video and we did not do any warm up, we just got him out and went and raced the barrels. My camera died in the middle of filming so I had to use another camera to do the barrels, you will notice the quality is not as good for the Barrel runs. You are welcome to come see him and try him out on the barrels yourself if you like. Call to come see him at 806-681-7223.Oh and I do think he would make a great Endurance horse, as we had taken him on an 8 mile trail ride and trotted and loped most of the way and at the end of the ride, he had hardly broke a sweat and acted like he could go another 8 miles.Tacoma does not look or act his age, He has incredible ground manners, and is just such a likeable horse. I fell in love with him, but he is just a bit much for the type of trail riding I like to do. We like to take it easy and slow and he likes to cover some ground. He will load by himself in a trailer, he picks his feet up with ease and holds them up. He has excellent legs and feet, NO sign of arthritis at all. We leave him bare foot and he still has never come up tender. I wish all my horses had legs and feet like him.
