Additional Comments:
I just reduced Tom's price. I have gotten a bigger horse and I cant keep them all. NO TRADES please. We will be getting someone on him soon to see what he can do on the barrels. He is a quick horse and would be best for an intermediate rider for barrel racing. He is great on the trails for beginner to intermediate rider.Tom is a very nice broke to ride 13 year old quarter horse gelding. He is not registered. He is very broke to ride and has been a real joy to have. He has given me the confidence I needed to get back to riding after many years of not riding. He is safe and sound, can be ridden by kids (they need to know how to turn, pull back to stop and say whoa). He is not a complete dead head, easy to kick up and go if asked, but doesnt do it unless asked. We have taken him on several trail rides and he has done fantastic, crosses creeks, rivers, will swim, not spooky and great in the front or the rear of the group. He is sound and healthy, current on coggins, teeth floating, worming. Trailers fantastic, ties for hours. Want to ride Tom out of the blue after a few months? Not a problem, call him from the pasture (he comes just with a quick holler at him), and jump on and go. He is the same every time you get on him. NO BUCK, REAR, ETC. NO VICES, not a kicker, biter. He is shod and ready to go, will have a reset done on him soon.He was a barrel horse before I got him, I was told he could really turn and was a fast runner. He is a finished barrel and pole horse, although, we do NOT run him and I dont have a clue what kind of times he does. A friend did lope him thru the barrels and poles at a playday and he did great, she did not allow him to full out run, but he could sure turn and had nice tight barrels. Poles he looked to be a natural. He would probably NOT be a tiny kids playday horse, he does get a little excited when he sees the barrels, does not rear, but does get excited and seems to really perk up and want to run. Goes in the gate great with ears forward and zeroed in on the barrels. He does know his job, but again, I have no idea what kind of times he would run. I am not a barrel racer and never was! Please contact me for any other info or more pictures. He is a nice fun gelding to have around.
