Additional Comments:
*** On Sept. 5, Western Smoke, a son of Smoke Glacken, won the G2 Sapling Stakes at Monmouth. *** "Birdie" is a sweet mare with a slightly timid disposition who responds well to attention. She retired from the track with two wins and earnings of $31,910. Sire: champion sprinter Smoke Glacken (10 wins in 14 starts, $759,560). Dam: stakes-producing daughter of champion and leading sire Storm Bird. 2nd dam: SW daughter of Kentucky Derby winner Bold Forbes. Smoke Glacken's daughters average $86,856 ($13,750 median) as broodmares at auction. Birdie sold at Keeneland as a yearling for $25,000. She has not been bred but should cross well on sons of Mr. Prospector, Fappiano and Holy Bull. Moves nicely, so could be prospect for various riding disciplines, too. All reasonable offers considered.
