Smoky is a tall, elegant Arabian gelding. He has competed very successfully for me in endurance riding and has excellent stamina and strength. He seems like he prefers the show ring, though, and it's been heart-breaking to make the decision to sell him. He's my buddy, but I don't want to make him do something he'd rather not. When my daughter started showing him last year in 4-H, we found his forte. With only limited showing, Smoky passed the 4-H level 6 achievement test at the Minnesota State 4-H show last year. This test includes flying lead changes, side-passing, two-tracking, hind and forehand pivots, etc. We bought Smoky 3 years ago and he had been trained for Halter and Western Pleasure(jog-trot). He's currently in training for Western Pleasure and is showing serious potential. He has a sweepy trot, smooth transitions, and good headset. Smoky would be competitive in both Western and English disciplines. He is very responsive to leg and seat cues and therefore requires an intermediate to experienced rider. Smoky is puppy-dog friendly, gentle, and well-mannered. He's up-to-date on coggins, vaccinations, trimming, deworming, and is guaranteed healthy and sound. Fort Ridgely Equestrian Center - Our farm is located just north of Fort Ridgely State Park, in the scenic Minnesota River Valley. We offer full boarding and a beautiful location to trail ride. Our indoor arena is insulated and is a wonderful place to get out of inclement weather.
Our personal focus is on endurance riding. We love having the trails here to condition on. We also have shown in open shows in Western Pleasure, Hunt Seat, trail class, gaming, and we some experience in jumping and dressage. We welcome you to come and try the trails here! |
