Petey is a 13hh haflinger gelding. He is 11 years old. He is very stocky and could easily carry a small adult. Petey is trained to ride and drive. He was trained down in the amish country and would be great for any level driver. No problem with cars, trucks, atvs, or road signs. Pulls right into the hills and holds back nicely on the down hill. May have driven double as well. He is super quiet. He has excellent ground manners and can be led and tacked by children. He is easy to catch and handle. Petey would be great for a first pony since he is so quiet and well mannered. He has a very sweet personality. Not spooky at all. Could easily be ridden by a beginner. Is great on the trail. He will follow on the trail all day long. He gets used for beginners out on the trail currently. Once his nose is parked behind the guide he will follow all day long. I had a 7 yr old beginner on him this past weekend who rode him through a hay field with grass almost up to Petey's nose and not once did Petey try to stop and eat. He is more woah than go. Can sit for weeks and not be silly when you go to ride him. Ridden in snaffle or halter/leadrope. Very very easy keeper. He is barefoot, lives outside (unless weather is bad), little grain. He is pastured with mares and geldings. Not dominant at all. Would be great for kids to ride to tag along with parents on a trail ride. Loads, ties, great for the vet, picks up feet, trailers.
