Johnny is an older guy. We suspect he was a great jumper in his day. I bought him about 4 years ago to give jumping lessons on and discovered he had a lameness problem so he has been in retirement ever since. He has good days and bad days and it doesn't seem to affect his everyday life. He is a barn favorite and is the sweetest horse you will ever meet. He has a TON of training, this horse probably showed his entire life. He has been evaluated by numerous vets and xrays were done, but all the tests were inconclusive. He does better with shoes, but has trouble keeping them on, throws them the next day, but we haven't tried shoeing him since he has been in a stall. He does not require any medication or supplements but a joint supplement would probably help. Everyone loves this horse and we hate to see him go but we have too many horses and not enough time. A good, experienced home is a must, he is a big warmblood so he would be better matched with an adult or confident teen. The next step would be to block his legs to see where his pain is from and go from there, I've been told its less than $400 and might fix his lameness. If that's possible he would make a lovely dressage mount. I would even allow his new owners to keep him where he is stabled for a discounted rate.
