Additional Comments:
Forina is a 16'+ 2003 Canadian Warmblood mare by Formaat (Widor/Pion) out of the Holsteiner mare Latina (Merano/Lapanto). Formaat, imported from Holland in 1989, was a modern riding type Dutch Warmblood horse by the famous stallion Widor, a stallion who sired both excellent dressage and jumping horses. His paternal grandsire was the Selle Francais Marinier. Formaat was a powerful and athletic Warmblood stallion combining quality with the most wonderful temperament and superior rideability; three good basic gaits and natural impulsion and cadence and consistently reproduced these qualities in his foals. He is the proven sire of top quality amateur and professional horses in dressage to Prix St Georges, eventing to Preliminary and in the hunter ring. He is the sire of a licensed son and many premium daughters.
Her dam, Latina is a Main Mare Book Holsteiner mare, unfortunately retired from a promising dressage career with injury. Her sire, Merano, stood for many years in Georgia and was well known for passing on his fancy movement and jumping ability. He has many offspring competing in dressage and eventing.
Latina's dam's sire is Lepanto (aka Rubenstein), shown successfully by J. Ashton Moore to the Grand Prix level for The Hui. This mare was bred for dressage and definitely showed her ability during her career. Latina is a very modern Holsteiner mare with correct conformation and good gaits. She was scored premium on her mare inspection.
Forina is going well under saddle, she has 3 very good gaits and would be very suitable as a dressage horse. As well she is started over fences and has done courses to 2'6". She rides out beautifully, well used to trail riding. She would suit any discipline!
