Additional Comments:
Flashy gelding ready to go to a loving home, “Buckshot” is a perfect size for kids. He stands about ____ hands tall and is extremely gentle. He is easy to handle and gets along with everyone. Kids have been riding him for the past few years. He is an easy keeper and is turned loose most of the time. He is easy to catch and loves attention. He has an easy going, loving attitude. We have thrown a rope off of him, open gates, trail ride, given riding lessons and I took him to a working cow horse clinic this fall. The kids have jumped on him and ridden him bareback and he doesn’t mind. He has no bad habits. He stands for the farrier (we do not have shoes on him), loads in any type of trailer, bathes, clips, saddles and goes. Asking $2000.00 for Buckshot. Please email or call me if you have any questions or would like to set up a time to meet us. Cell # 361-701-3123. Website: www.ch-quarterhorses.com

Company / Facility:
Careen A. Hammock - Start your colt right and feel the difference!
I specialize in working and training 2-5 year olds. At the end of 30/60 days colts will be able to: walk, trot, lope, pick up correct leads, stop solidly, back softly, pivot, side-pass, open and close gates, move smoothly at all speeds, move off leg pressure, be aware of the rider and complete trail obstacles smoothly and comfortably. They will also have ground manners, trailer loading and any farrier training needed. Only 2 horses are kept at any time so I can focus my time with your horse.
The first 30/60 days of riding lay the foundation for the horse's entire riding career. We work hard at making that foundation solid and positive by teaching the horse to search for the right response and to think on his own.
All horses are started in a round pen. This is where they will learn to face up and watch me, carry a saddle and will have their first 2 or 3 rides before moving out into a large cutting pen. When they become comfortable the remaining time is split between the arena and applying the horse's skills and building confidence in the real world. Horses are ridden out on the ranch and hauled to other ranches close by to experience ranch riding and trails. Horses are also taken a few miles down the road to a man made obstacle coarse for additional training and skills. The horses learn to think and to be confident as they use fundamental skills to work and complete tasks. Horses are also subject to be taken to local shows and/or SHOT (Stock Horse of Texas) shows. |
