Additional Comments:
This especially sweet-natured colt was born on a very hot day (8/19/08) and collapsed from heat exhaustion after running & playing too hard. My neighbor carried this baby in his arms from the pasture to a round pen, where we hosed the colt with cool water as we waited for the vet to arrive. By the time our vet saw him, Cheylo was back to a normal temperature & all was well. But he gave us quite a scare, at only one day old! Cheylo is the first foal of a wonderful riding mare, BA CHEYENE (by the Spanish stallion AL JEFE x a double *Bask mare named HL JUSTA STAR) & was sired by my beloved black stallion, IBN HISAN (*Morafic & Raffon breeding). [His full pedigree may be found at www.allbreedpedigree.com] This colt is small & oh-so-cute, with BIG dark eyes, a beautiful dished head & tiny, teacup muzzle. Cheylo knows his name, comes when called, LOVES to be petted & scratched, & grows prettier every day. He's a strong, solid, chunky, bright red chestnut colt with a big star, very narrow strip (blaze) & two white hind socks, with a cute little white (flaxen) tail that has red hair at the top. He is quickly growing taller & stronger. He spends a lot of time running in the pastures with his older half-brothers, and sometimes he outruns all of them. He's very quick & agile & can jump over piles of brush that are taller than he is! However, this colt is "bargain priced" because I want him to have a very special home. He needs a child or lady -- someone not so very tall or heavy -- to be his rider, and I want him to have a home with someone special, who will love him & pet him & play with him & be kind to him. He will probably NOT be a winning Class A show horse for the breed shows ... not that he isn't pretty, but he will probably be small, and his cute little red & white tail (flaxen with a red top -- I'm told that's a signature of his grandsire, AL JEFE) has a "knot" in it. My vet calls it a "corkscrew tail." Very unusual -- I've never seen one quite like it. Also, his left front leg is just a tiny bit longer than the right front leg. As a result, he holds it out to the side a bit, & it almost looks like a "bench knee." I've never seen a leg like this before, either! Speculation is that his mother may have stepped on him ... he's her first foal, & she was very over-protective at first & stayed very, very close to him for the first several days ... the vet said not to worry, that he will probably "grow out of it" just fine, but I plan to have him gelded as soon as it is safe to do so, and I want him to have a really special home with people who will love him forever. He is SO cute, and SO sweet, everyone who sees him falls in love with him. I truly believe that he will be totally sound for riding, and will make a wonderful horse for someone who wants to do Parelli games and trail riding and maybe local open shows or 4-H or something that's just fun, not so super competitive. If you think you might be the right person to love Cheylo for the next 35 years, let's talk! He is SO loveable, you will want to bring him in the house like a big dog ... & he'd probably love all the attention. He'd make a wonderful Christmas gift for someone who's been dreaming about a beautiful Arabian gelding ... he's smart, strong, gorgeous & will be a versatile pleasure mount & a super "best friend." He will NOT be a good prospect for the most rigorous athletic persuits (such as racing, reining, cutting, or eventing) and he is NOT a stallion prospect. He is a smart, sweet, beautiful, loving "pet quality" and "local show quality" Arabian GELDING prospect, who will make a wonderful friend and companion for some lucky person. Who says you can't buy love? Treat Cheylo kindly & he will love you for all of his life!
