Additional Comments:
Lark is a beautiful, well-colored 8-year-old Appaloosa mare with excellent conformation in addition to good, well-respected breeding. She is nicely trained, sweet, willing, sound, straight and sociable with people and other horses. As a two-year-old, Lark was hauled to Oklahoma and Texas to compete in the Appaloosa World Shows and placed TOP TEN in the Ladies Costume class. Lark's present owner has enjoyed her for about four years and together they have completed Posse Search-horse Certification; Portland Mounted Police Crowd Control training; and they have ridden on the beach, mountains, in parades, and through the Eugene "Trail Trials" course. Lark can back through barrels, do haunch and forehand turns, sidepass both directions, pick up her leads and EVEN lie down so you can mount from the ground. She goes quietly into and through water, over bridges, and has even been ridden in a Paint Ball event with pom-poms in her ears. Lark is friendly and enjoys attention; is good to bathe, clip, shoe, and load and hauls nicely. She has gone on the huge Chief Joseph Rides where there are hundreds of horses in attendance, and has been hobbled beside a tent overnight. Lark enjoys being ridden bareback and her regular bit is a simple snaffle, but when she is ridden in a totally unfamiliar situation, she uses a Tom Thumb. Lark neck reins, is light and responsive, and is not ridden with spurs; she responds well to leg and verbal commands, with a "kiss" or a "cluck". If you have been searching for a handsome, sound new partner to enjoy on the trails, in search and rescue, or maybe for the show ring (she would likely need a bit more polish to compete in the big shows), you should take a serious look at this lovely mare. She has always been healthy, is current on her worming and all shots including her West Nile; already has a Permanent Brand Inspection Certificate; and lives in the mid-Willamette Valley in Oregon. I have some little video clips of Lark too, for serious inquiries.
