Additional Comments:
Take a look at this filly. Zana is a chestnut filly that lightens in the sun in the summer and shows more of the dun gene. She was born with barring over her withers and a dorsal stripe but now she looks more chestnut. She has a nice disposition and a great big hip. At two weeks old she hurt her left eye. Her sire, Toms Nino Amarillo, is a red dun own son of The Ole Man by the great Three Bars. The Ole Man was a AAAT race horse with a SI-100. The Ole Man's dam, Chicado V, was also a AAAT race mare with a SI-100 and set a track record in her first race and was 1952 racing co-world champion two year old filly (along with Bardella). Chicado V is the only mare to produce 5 AAAT (highest level of racing) offspring. Triple Chick, a son of Chicado V and a full brother to the sire to our stallion, foundered as a yearling and many say he would have made a AAAT as well. Zana's dam is a dun granddaughter of Zan Parr Bar, one of the greatest All-Around horses in the breed, he has 245 halter and 357 performance points as well as being an NRHA money-earner. Zan Parr Bar was also an AQHA and World Champion. Zana has Three Bars on her papers and that is getting pretty rare for a 2008 foal.
