Additional Comments:
Star is a gentle, gentle mare. She's only 3, but acts like most 6 or 7 year olds- not bombproof yet, but she's headed that way fast. Just a wonderful, willing attitude- wants to be everyone's friend. We trail ride her 3 or 4 times a month and she does good everytime. Young kids have ridden her on rides (8 and 9 year old kids) and she did fine. She has a wonderful disposition, leads well, and loads like a dream. Rides with a hackamore- no headslinging or anything. Good with her feet and wonderful at having her ears handled. Can walk around behind her, pick up back feet, pull her tail, etc. Except for her size, there's no way you could tell she's a 3 year old. This is one of my own personal horses and if we didn't have too many right now and I wasn't headed to college, there's no way she would be for sale. She is a young horse, so I wouldn't put a baby on her, but for a kid who knows about a horse and is 8-10 years old, she should work right out- I am only an intermediate rider and I've never had a problem with her, but she is not a babysitter horse- a kid would need to have confidence in themselves. She would however, make a young rider or a lady a wonderful, ever improving horse. The only problem she has is moving a little with mounting- just at first. After she gets to know you, she is fine. She is only 13.3 now, but should mature out to 14 hands or better- just the right size for a youth or small to meduim size adult. She is just altogether a wonderful young horse and should only get better. You are welcome to come look at her and ride her . We'll ride along . Price is negotiable and trades will be considered. We also have blue heeler pups for sale out of hard-working stock- 75 dollars each.
