13 year old Oldenburg gelding by Alternativ.A solid 16.2, Ashton has been shown First level Dressage and participated in Eventing clinics under a beginner rider (she is pictured with him here) over the last two years. Previously schooled more seriously in Dressage, knows basic laterals (leg-yield, shoulder in, haunches in), but has not been in consistent training/work due to our family obligations.Fabulous canter and walk, good trot - always given 8's and 9's for gaits. An easy and uncomplicated ride for even the most inexperienced rider. Hacks out alone or in company very quietly. Never different at shows than he is at home. Ash is just a steady, pleasant horse under saddle that any level of rider will enjoy.The negatives? He came to us naughty in-hand - though he has not been rude for well over a year now, he does have that history and may test a new person. He is easily bored if his rider is chatting and not keeping his brain engaged, and will chew on leads, reins and the like if given opportunity.Up to date on dental, farriery (sound and comfortable barefoot), vaccinations. Other than minor bumps, cuts and bruises due to turnout rough-housing with his pals, no negative health history. Easy keeper.Our upcoming move necessitates this sale as we must downsize.Asking priced reduced to $6,000 to facilitate a quick sale.
