Pony Soprano, “Tony the Pony,” is a 2007 Welsh Cob Gelding. He is 13.2 hands, but rides more like a horse, with a very flashy trot and floaty canter. Nothing about this guy says “pony”. Tony would do best with a confident young rider or adult amateur and he can hold a tall rider well (rider in photos is 5’7”).
He has free jumped 4’9”, has shown 3’3”, and has schooled 3’9”. He has lateral work and is schooled through 2nd level dressage.... (read more) Tony has evented through the novice level, placing 5th at his first event and ending on his dressage score. He has schooled through preliminary cross country fences without problem. Has also done many dressage shows.
He would excel in jumpers and is a very clean and careful jumper. Uncomplicated when jumping and does not refuse or balk. No spook at water or ditches.
He is a very easy keeper and is on 24/7 turnout with five other horses. Goes well barefoot and is on a grain-free diet. Tony hacks out alone or with others, is not spooky, but is easily excitable. Loads/ties/stands well. Has been extensively worked on ground work, so his ground manners are impeccable. He has been used in a lesson program for advanced students, but can be used for leadline lessons as well. Not selling him as a lesson horse, but while owner was pregnant, he was used in advanced lessons.
Only selling due to owner having a new baby and we hate to see his talent just sitting around. He is UTD on shots, farrier, and worming. Serious offers only. Video upon request
