Toby has been a great horse for me. I bought him as my beginner horse when I was learning to ride. He is absolutely dead broke - no deer, honking car, or flying turkey has ever rattled him at all. He would be a great beginner horse or lesson horse for someone looking to learn. He loves going on trail rides. I have put many of my non-horsey friends of all ages on him, and he handles it very well. He is the kind of horse you can leave on pasture for months, lunge a bit, hop back on, and ride like you never missed a day.... (read more) Supposedly, his previous owner used him as a calf roper and cattle cutter, but I have never used him for that. He is very athletic though and I'm sure he would do alright at that too.
Toby is a brown tobiano pinto with flashy markings. He not registered, but I suspect that he is at least part Tennessee walking horse because his gait is the smoothest of any horse I have ever ridden (I usually ride quarter horses). His walk, trot, and canter are all very smooth and easy to ride.
Toby does not crib, he has never foundered, he does not bite or kick, he is an easy keeper, and we have never had any health problems with him. He stands for the farrier and loads easily. Truly, he is all-around a great horse. I am selling him because I am graduating college now and I will no longer be able to afford to keep him. I would love to see him go to another loving home where he can actually serve his purpose as a great riding horse. I am asking $1,800, but I will consider any serious offer. Feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like more pictures or if you would like to come see him in person.
