Leo is one of the sweetest horses I have ever met. He was born in 2001 and is 15.2hh with a beautiful bay roan coat. He is very easy going and quiet. He has packed around all age and level riders and kept them safe. He was owned for the past 11 yrs by a couple in their 60's for trail riding and their grandchildren to enjoy. The husband was recently diagnosed with cancer and that is THE only reason he is looking for a new home. He has never bucked, reared, bolted, kicked, bit.... (read more) He is easy to handle and ride. Lots and Lots of trail miles. This boy stays BROKE. He goes out alone or in a group, will lead or follow. Traffic safe, not much phases him and he really tries hard and wants to please. He is not bothered by farm machinery, ATVs, dogs, trucks, bikes or wildlife. You can blaze trails on him and he goes where you point. Rides very nice in a snaffle bit on a loose rein, even on the way home. He is no speed horse but will trot and canter. You can carry a flag on him, saddle bags, horn bags etc. He rides bareback and double. Will ride in halter and lead too. He handles everything with ease. Gets along well with other horses, (lower in pecking order) respects fences. Clips, bathes, sprays, loads n hauls great, great for vet and farrier. He has been sacked out and desensitized with plastic bags, tarps, stick n string, umbrellas, flags, and all sorts of things. He just remains mellow. He neck and direct reins, moves off leg a bit. flexes lateral and vertical, disengages hind quarters. mount from the ground or mounting block and he stands still, he has a lot of patience and tolerates a lot. He would be a great horse for someone who needs a confidence builder, babysitter type. He is easy to catch and loves affection. He really loves praise too. He has always been loved and well cared for and you can tell. He had a dental, fall vaccines, deworming and sheath cleaned along with a massage ( some knots in his neck) nov 2016 and feel like a million bucks. Neg coggins. did I mention he ground ties very well, his previous owners grand kids would pull him out of the pasture and ground tie him to tack him. He also ties quietly at a hitching post. I really like this boy. Perfect trail, camping, 4h gelding right here. NO TRADES, NO payments, SERIOUS INQUIRES ONLY.
