I am looking to sell my mare Little Scotch Bar. I raised her from a foal and I have been her only owner. This little mare has done a little bit of everything, but she is best suited for someone who would like to go on trail rides a couple times a week. She rides on trails by herself or with others no problem.
She prefers to be in a pasture, and can be pastured with other horses, though she tends to be low on the totem pole. I have always tried to pasture her by herself with other horses around her (But not in with her) as she seems to be happiest this way.... (read more) She is self maintaining, and isn't hard to keep in shape.
She needs a confident rider with intermediate skills, though I have put absolute beginners on her and she was perfect. Needs an intermediate rider because she can be very opinionated (She is a mare after all). Again, you can ask her to do anything, but she will tell you how she feels about it first.
She rides very lightly in a snaffle, and absolutely does not need spurs.
I am selling because my husband is in an occupation that requires him to move frequently. I have moved her a few times with us and it is just too hard on her. This is not about the money for me. This is about finding the right person for her that will take care of her.
She is registered dun with zebra stripes, 7 years old, and around 15 hands. Excellent Poco Bueno lines. She is a petite little mare and I find most western saddles are a little long for her.
Some of the photos are her with her winter coat and some are with her summer coat. Please share! I appreciate any help. More photos here: http://sandiego.craigslist.org/nsd/grd/5864052416.html
