Madison is a 16 year old mare that stands approximately 14 hands. She was part of a rescue with numerous horses. She was emaciated, suffering from parasites and dental and hoof neglect. She was in such poor shape that it took almost 5 months to rehabilitate her. She has been a very sweet and friendly mare since the day she came in. She enjoys affection from people and has good ground manners.
Madison has been evaluated for riding the she does have previous training.... (read more) She is a sturdy athletic pony with a lot of controllable energy right now. With regular riding we expect her training to improve and her speed to slow down. We expect her to come around quickly in the training program. She has already walked, trotted and cantered in the arena with tack and rider. At this time she requires a confident intermediate to advanced rider but with more time under saddle we think she could be appropriate for a confident beginner in an active lesson program.
Madison will be a versatile pony. She could jump, work cows, trail ride or really anything else the adopter would like to do with her.
Maximum weight carrying capacity: 160 lbs. (rider weight plus tack)
