Additional Comments:
Misty is a big, stout mare with good conformation. She is broke to ride. She has been used as a trail horse and I think that her first owner also used her as a barrel horse. I think she will make an excellent horse, whether she would be trained to show, work cattle, or just to pleasure ride. She doesnt know anything more than just trail riding at this time, but she has a good mind and could go further with training very easily. I think that she would make a good intermediate horse but I have never had any intermediate riders around her myself. She has some go to her, but anyone with some experience would be able to slow her down. I have a picture of her with a kid on her. This picture was taken by the previous owner. I am not selling her as 'kid broke' but I think that if someone got her riding again, that any kid with experience could get along with her. Her colts should be even better! Stands approx. 14.3 H. Check out her awesome pedigree!! ***I just recently climbed on her after 2 years of not being ridden due to being a mother and she rode off like she had been doing it all along!! I was very impressed. She is extremely quiet.***
Misty is a very friendly mare, the first to meet you at the gate. She is also a very easy keeper. The only bad thing that she has is that she can be bossy with other horses. She always wants to be the head horse. However, we did not have any problems messing with her colt. She does not mind anything that we do with her. She will ride, stand tied, stand for the farrier, bathe, etc. Misty has not been ridden for over a year due to being in foal. Due to the economy, I plan on leaving her open after she has her '09 colt and I will get her riding again. If you want her for a broodmare, now is your opportunity to breed her the way you want!!
Misty had her first foal in Feb. 2008 by Zippo Cedar Bar. He was built like a tank! See pictures of 'HotRod' on the 'Sold Horses' Page (towards the bottom of the page). She is turning out to be an excellent mother! Misty is in foal for April 2009 to 'Sand Peppy Twist'. He is a palomino son of 'Dun It with a Twist' (AQHA Champion) who is a son to $4 million dollar sire, 'Hollywood Dun It', and out of 'Peppymint Twist', an earner of over $221,000. She is a dtr. to 'Peppy San Badger'. 'Peppymint Twist' has produced many great colts! On the bottom side, Twister is out of a dtr. of 'Mr. San Peppy'. 'Colonel Freckles' is a grandsire on the bottom side as well. Plus many other great horses!! You won't find a better stallion with a pedigree like this one. Twister has a high percentage of throwing color as well. You can see more about Twister at http://www.angelfire.com/wi3/turnnburnin/My_Homepage_Files/Page7.html. UPDATE: Misty had a stud colt on 4/16. You should see him, he is going to be a good one! If interested come out to see them for yourself.
