Rides English or Western
This is a very sweet, very loving, and very comfortable horse to ride and is only being offered for sale to the Right Home. He was owned by the same owner since he was 1 year old and that owner has encountered health issues that has made him not able to take care of him anymore. He was started very slow and did mostly walk/jog until the beginning of this year where I have been cantering him and teaching him balance.... (read more) He was shown in 4-H and made it to the state level two years ago in walk/jog and grooming and showmanship. He is very smart and easy to train, and he really loves to please. He gets along with any horse out in the pasture and he is never herd bound. I have enjoyed riding him out on the trails and he is one of the most comfortable horses that I have ever ridden. He will ride out alone with ease and he goes anywhere that you ask him to go. He has not had years of hard riding ever in his life so he is not a finished horse in the ring. He direct reins and is learning to neck rein as he rides and steers very well off your leg. He has been ridden English and western and will go over 2ft jumps with ease and does not spook. He is a horse that does not go fast, but he is easy to ride and is not a kick ride. He has a very nice long stride which makes it wonderful for trail riding and just walking along. Although he is a very safe horse and very laid back, I do not think that he would be a good fit for a beginner rider as he still needs some finishing himself and he is not ready for the job to "train" a beginner rider mentally himself. He has outstanding ground manners, and is a gentleman to lead around. My three year old loves to lead him around to eat grass. He loads well onto any trailer and trailers well even by himself. He was barefoot his whole life until I put shoes on him this spring. He did great for his first shoes and I only put them on for personal preference because of where we go riding. He has been trail ridden on overnight camping trips and was tied to a picket line well. This boy is a very, very sweet and loving horse that is for sale to the right home only. If you feel that you are the right fit for him, then please feel free to give me a call.
