Star is a 13yr old half Arabian half standardbred mare. She has been ridden extensively on the trails and through all types of terrain. Our trails are very advanced so she's been up and down steep and slippery hills, through knee deep mud, bridges, logs and trees etc. She'll trail blaze where there is no path, just point her where u want her to go. She was used for many years as a guide horse leading large organized rides, including ponying other horses that wouldn't willingly go thru some obstacles.... (read more) She'll also ride alone. She gets along with other horses on the trail and in the pasture. She's out with 20 other horses in pasture, mares geldings and ponies included. She transitions easily from walk to trot to canter and will stay at that speed until you ask her for more. Star is also a natural jumper. I took her to a hunter pace a few years ago and she took right to the jumps. She cleared each jump perfect, not too high or low, or forward or behind and landed every jump smoothly. I didn't even move from the saddle and neither of us has ever had any jumping training. She never refused a jump and really seemed to enjoy herself. Like most Arabians she will look at some things sometimes but shes not real spooky. I've had her all her life and she's never tried to rear, buck, bolt or anything stupid. She has plenty of energy and is always ready to go but will also walk right off on a loose rein calmly after cantering. She not hot. She is light in the bit and neck reins. You can keep her reins loose n she'll keep up with faster walking horses or you can ease her back to keep pace with the slower movers. She's traffic safe and 100% sound. She stands quiet for the farrier and vet. She ties clips loads and unloads from the trailer. This horse is a special one to me and the only reason I'm selling her is because I have 2 small children at home and another on the way. I have another horse I ride with my children and she just hasn't been getting any ride time. She's an amazing horse with loads of potential and I hate to see her wasting away standing in a field. She likes to ride and I want someone that will use her. Of course a good home only. $2800 I did a very simple video just to show her movement and willingness but if she's still here in the spring I'll do a more extensive one highlighting what she can really do.
