Skye has been one of my most favorite horses over all of my years of owning them, but I am heavily involved with cutting horses now. She loves her job, and needs to be running barrels and out having fun. She is a fun and super laid back horse to ride. You can sit her lope all day long. Doesn’t require much warming up at all. Get on, trot and lope a few circles and go make your run. Good on all types of ground, both at barrel races or at rodeos.... (read more) Sights and sounds don’t bother her one bit. AWESOME on the trails, or riding around the ranch. Level headed. I’ve even worked the cutting flag on her. She stays focused. Gentle and safe, as long as you know how to ride. No ally issues – just release your hand and she’s off. I have not run barrels in two years, but one of my friends ran her in Dripping Springs 6 months ago. Ask me any questions you may have and I will answer honestly. Not in a hurry to sell this horse – will wait for the perfect fit.
She is dark brown, and gets dapples in the summer. Slick pretty coat, and flowing mane and tail – it grows like crazy. Good strong feet. I only shoe her on the front. When I was hauling, I did shoe all four feet. I’ve never had any problems with this mare. She is drama free and gets along with other horses, cattle and dogs. She is a grade mare. She is an easy keeper. Although she is friendly, she is all business, and not an in-your-pocket type of horse. Let me know if you would like to come and try her. Although she is not the fanciest, she is a very very special horse to me, and I will make sure she goes to the perfect home. Vet checks are of course welcome at buyer’s expense. Several videos available- she makes the same run every time. I never pushed her. Thank you for your interest.
