Looking for a horse to trail ride and hit the weekend open shows with? Here's your girl! Meet Twist. This pretty bay mare is very broke and easy to ride. While she was bred to be a cutting horse, Twist didn't get that memo and her talent under saddle is much more in line with rail classes.... (read more) If you or your 4Her have your sights set on some open show or 4H competition, this mare can get the job done. With a slow jog, easy lope, and respectable headset, Twist looks great on the rail. She isn't going to win any big competitions but she'll certainly keep you and/or your child in the ribbons at the local shows! Twist has done some showmanship too. Her pivot is a bit rusty and needs brushing up but everything else is ready to go right now (she squares up so easily!)
Trail riding - Twist is a saint on the trails. This mare goes out alone or in a group and is easy to ride in either situation. She is also traffic safe. We found ourselves swarmed by deer flies during our evaluation of Twist and she even handled that perfectly (much better than her rider - those things are relentless!)
Twist's ground manners are excellent. She stands like a rock in the cross ties, clips, sprays, bathes, and is perfect for the farrier.
***Twist does have an undershot jaw and we have priced her accordingly. A horse with this type of jaw conformation requires appropriate feed & regular dental care. She is in ideal body condition and is not hard to maintain but does require hay rather than pasture grazing. She is otherwise sound and free of any vices.
