Rupert isn't the fanciest horse in the barn but he sure is a cutie and such a good boy! You will never have to chase Rupert when you need him - just appear at the gate and he will come running! This flashy boy loves to trail ride and he is great at it. He is not looky or spooky and genuinely enjoys hacking out.... (read more) He handles new things sensibly and will follow his rider's lead when faced with a new challenge (see him venture into the pond in his video!) This good-natured gelding is entirely traffic safe and will walk/jog/lope roadside without hesitation as traffic passes. In an effort to expand his resume a bit, Chris has started throwing the rope off of Rupert and he is handling it like a pro! While he may never see the inside of a show pen, Rupert will make a great using trail companion for many years. He is a youngster at 5yrs old and very willing to learn new things! Sound, sane, no vices of any kind. Rupert is low in the pecking order in a herd situation and has been turned out in a mixed herd of mares and geldings. He is content turned out or stalled and has good stall manners. Ties, cross ties, clips, bathes, tacks up quietly. We will continue to trail ride him and practice roping with Rupert until he is sold!
***Our apologies for the lack of great photos of this boy. With the combination of Rupert's large amount of white, our North Carolina red dirt, and rainy weather, getting him photo session clean has been a challenge! ***
