Jon and Cori Wyse became husband and wife on April 22nd, 2018. Though now united in marriage, these individuals came from two very different backgrounds.
Jon came from a Christian home bathed in love and middle-class wealth. Born into a family of law enforcement, Jon often wondered if his father would come home alive. He would stuff childhood pain by pursuing success and rising to the top. He became a successful “horse whisperer” and helped build one of the largest loan companies in Orange County.... (read more) Though he was successful, his ambitions were empty and hollow. Blinded by pride, his horse training success was stripped, rendering Jon homeless. Later, a deceiver entered his loan business and choked it out. Having lost all worldly success, Jon humbled himself before God. It was then he was able to rebuild and over time he established a new company in taming wild horses.
Cori came from an agnostic family. Though her father had a Presbyterian background, her family had been wounded by the church when Cori was young. So the name “Jesus” was never mentioned. Her parents divorced when she was 11 and her mother entered a relationship shortly after. It wasn’t long after that the abuse started. Over the next decade, pain from the ongoing abuse became overwhelming and addiction became a crutch for Cori. Addiction only ushered in more abuse which ultimately resulted in isolation and homelessness. After her father’s death, years of multiple forms of abuse, a failed marriage, and a son, Cori humbled herself and cried out to Jesus. From that point forward, her life was forever changed.
