Providence Farm & Riding Academy's instuctor Julie Blackburn has been a Massachusetts licensed riding instructor since 1988. Her credits include an A.S. in Equine Science and a B.S. in Equine Business Management from Johnson and Wales University. She has shown dressage, hunters and evented on local, regional and national circuits in New England and throughout the Midwest. Julie has also been a past board member of The Midwest Dressage Association and the Michigan Welsh Pony and Cob Association.... (read more) She teaches riders of all ages and abilities, and excels in working with riders dealing with fear or physical issues. She is available for dressage, stadium, and cross country lessons, as well as coaching at shows and events.
Julie is now basing her lesson program out of Spring Willow Farm in Mendon, Massachusetts. She also teaches at Pinegate Farm in Swansea, Massachusetts and travels to local private farms to teach and train.
Providence Farm & Riding Academy maintains several school horses and ponies for students to use for lessons, clinics, showing and unmounted activities. All horses and ponies are well mannered and trained to perform lower level dressage and/or jump. Students are matched with animals that are appropriate to their level of training and personality.
