Additional Comments: Mannie is a wonderful gentle, kind, people pleaser. Any knowledgeable rider with soft hands and a balanced seat can ride this guy. He has solid arena knowledge- a very balanced w/t/c- he knows his leads, simple changes, lateral movements at walk/trot, counter canter, shoulder-in, haunches-in, pivots, shoulder/haunches in.... etc., flexs both way, soft mouth, comes easily on the bit and from behind, nice soft gaits and round back. Working on walk-canter and picking up canter from standing. Recently started jumping natural hazzards- ditches, banks, tree trunks, as well as 2 1/2' rails. This horse would make an outstanding fox hunter or eventer for someone. Very uphill and balanced, good form, impulsive jump. He seems to really like jumping, with additional training, this guy might be a really nice jumper prospect. Quiet enough for a novice, talented enough for someone with experience to take to third or fourth level. My friends that don't ride, throw the western saddle on him and we trail ride. Will pony off of another horse, or will pony another horse alongside. He is good alone or with other horses- front or behind, he doesn't care. Confident and quiet he's a pro at going over bridges, ditches, dams; meeting livestock, wildlife, vehicles, farm implements. Has NEVER bucked or reared. Currently being rode by a 12 year old beginner student of mine walk/trot - and canter. Got my 6 year old timid son started in riding lessons. He is gentle and forgiving enough for a novice rider, but has the talent to go up the levels for a serious adult amatuer. Absolutely beautiful movement on the flat. Will ride in either English or Western tack and about any type of regular snaffle bit. With a little more training, this horse could make a very nice upper level dressage, pony club, eventing, fox hunter, and/or jumper. Sane without lunging, even after MONTHS off and virtually perfect on the ground. I have not found this guy to have one vice. A youth horse with his sane nature, but tall and substantial enough to be a perfect 'ladies horse'... He hacks out quietly, walks into a trailer and stands as though he was born there. He will tie quietly to stand all day if needed. UTD on everything, sound, very sane, and completely healthy. Current negative coggins. Shipping can be arranged. The only reason I'm selling this wonderful guy, is being a breeder, I have too many younger horses to ride. I need to cut back before winter, so all offers will be considered. |
